Sunday 2-26-12

Well, here I go bragging again...but I can't help it.  Being a post menopause woman who "struggles" to lose every single pound and has success I think I have earned bragging rights.  I went shopping yesterday and was in a store that had such good customer service (yes there are still stores out there with customer service) that the sales woman suggested I try their jeans with a sweater I had on.  I told her what size jeans I had on and she brought me 4 pairs to try on.  I looked at the size before I put them on and said....grrr she brought me the wrong size....it was a size smaller than what I told her.  But I put them on and tada! they fit.  The size was a size "10".  I just couldn't believe it.  Less than a year ago and prior to Pearla's nutrition classes and Johnny's weight training I was a size 18.  I told the sales woman, "You made my day, I never would have chosen that size!"  It's moments like that that keep me on track.  You can do it too. Well, this is the beginning of another nutrition class.  Welcome, Sam and Izzy to the advance class.  We're a good group and a lot of support for each other.  It will be a fun, fast 6 weeks.  Good luck to everyone. Grace

I (Dory) lost 4 1/4 inches off my body. I love Herbalife products and how they are making me healthy. I was able to hold 15 pound dumb bells in each hand (30 pounds total) bend and almost touch my toes. It has been almost 20 yrs. since my back injury. I am getting my life back. YEAH!!!!!~Dory

Happy Valentines Day to everyone!  Had a great workout with Johnny today.  Legs....ugh!!  Tomorrow is our final weigh in for this session...can you believe it?  Well, not me.  I am hoping for a lose even though I was on vacation last week.  So lets end the session on a positive note.  Lose we can do it!

Struggling today. For some reason I want to eat all the wrong things.
I've maintained, but I'm craving junk. I went for a pedicure instead
of pizza for lunch. Nice swap I think. Haha.

Hello everyone,  back from vacation.  Not sure where the week went.  Didn't workout as much as I wanted but I did eat well and held my weight.  But time will tell come Wednesday's weigh in.  Getting back into the swing of things and preparing for the upcoming week.  It's all about preparation.  Glad to be back into my routine.

Saturday - 2/11. Laura

Today I went back to my bad habit. I am owning it and moving on. I
wish everyday would be perfect, but this is real life. I am still
learning to not be derailed from my goals by each pebble in the road I
step on. It was a blip, and I got back on track. (I will walk extra
on the treadmill tonight ). I know I have made progress as I now
encounter less pebbles which come fewer and further between and I feel
so in control if regaining control. We have the power and I intend to
keep using it!!

Wednesday 2/8 - Kelly

Hello!  I hope everyone has had a great week despite the outcome of the game on Sunday.  Kayla and I were just realizing that we are nearing the end of class.  I'm about 3 - 5 lbs shy from my goal weight (I'll find out tonight, yikes), so I really need to stay focused.  Can't wait to see everyone!!

Pats are just about to start and I thought I would take a minute to
catch up on blogs. Glad I did! All good, right and makes you want to
keep going. I am going to try the oatmeal recipe and YES Kelly, you
are getting stronger. I could see it last week. You look awesome!
Getting to any 6am workout I feel is a great accomplishment. I always
have to remind myself how amazing I feel the rest of the day and how
productive I have been while others are still sleeping. One small step
each day in a better direction is a step closer to making it happen.

1/3 cup dry oatmeal
2/3 cup water
1/4 cup raspberries
2 Tablespoons Herbalife Chocolate Protein Drink
!/2 cup soy milk (can use whatever milk)
1/3 cup dry oatmeal made with water.  Yes I cook it .lol
Then had a 1/4 cup raspberries.
Mix chocolate protein drink with a 1/2 cup soy milk.  You can use real milk. Yes I am eating this and it taste yummy.  Like a chocolate raspberry oatmeal cookie. 
I feel like I am reaching for the cookie dough. lol
Hmmm maybe if I add a little peanut butter next time. ~Dory

I was thinking yesterday...How to make lifestyle changes.  You surround yourself with people who love you and appreciate you, those who make you laugh and feel good. You forget the negative, and focus on the positive. Love everyone and pray for the ones who don't treat you right. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is a part of life, getting up is living."

Good Morning America had a small bit on the news this morning about
how bad sugar is for you and how so much of it is hidden in what we
eat daily that we are not really aware. They would like it taxed for
foods with high amounts. Makes you aware when they show granola as a
high sugar item of how much we take "healthy" labels at face value.
Glad we are learning to be me suspicious.

Friday Feb 3 - Kelly

Happy Friday!!  Holy endorphins!  Every week that I make it to 6 AM suspension training on Wednesday, my mood definitely brightens.  Changes are still happening every day.  I feel like I've built up enough muscles to actually feel the burn where I'm supposed to.  When I used to do crunches and jack knives, I would feel it in my back or legs first.  I would feel so weak when I couldn't lift my butt off the floor, but sticking with it really improves your form.  The little accomplishments really add up and we should pat ourselves on the back (and then do one more rep!)  I hope everyone does something nice for themselves this weekend because we are all doing awesome!!

Felt a bit defeated (okay pissed) the scale on Wed was not friendly. (I dont really know how unfriendly, just know it was) I know I need to really put on a full court press with the workouts so that is my plan this week.  I am going to take time this weekend  to get together a book (like Fletchers) and make a plan to be aware.  Being aware of getting back to the basics and basic choices. Like all of us in class, we are all so busy that second nature is not quite second nature yet. I am avoiding situations this weekend that I know will derail me and I am really good with it.  Derail my eating and derail my mind set.  I will get on top of my struggle and reach my goal!!!  Have a great weekend all and GO PATS!!!!
